Hello. How are you? It may look like a regular ice cream shop. But if you ask for the flavor of the day, you'll quickly discover it's more than that. What is the scoop of the day? I got one person walking in for the scoop of the day after you, a hidden refrigerator door swings open, leading you into a food and cocktail lounge. It's called the craft creamery speakeasy located in downtown Las Vegas. And one of the creators behind it is Tony Martinez. I have incredible role models of parents. Martinez tells me his family is a foundation of everything he does. He is a managing partner and owner of several businesses across southern Nevada, including me, barrio kitchen and cocktails to set of beer gardens and craft creamery. Born in L. A. Harbor City, California. My family moved out here when I was two. So might as well been born in Vegas, but just didn't happen that way. But everything I know is in Vegas. Martinez says his entrepreneurial spirit comes from his family. His parents founded La Bonita Supermarkets, which is now preparing to open its eighth location right here in the valley. My brother to the day is still the GM. I am still involved at the stores on a day to day. La Bonita has been such an identity for myself and my family since basically I was born. Martinez says the businesses he's built are separate from La Bonita, but shaped by his own drive and strengthened by the values his family instilled in him. My parents are incredible people, uh, from just being amazing parents to family people, creating a family, strong. All of us still get together on on a weekly. He tells me Hispanic heritage is about more than business. It's about community. We are in the southwest. Um, very close to obviously Mexico, our populations of Latinos as a whole, but Mexicans as a whole is very strong in the southwest. So is that impact us being Mexican? Yes, we know the culture. We know our people. And he says family, whether by blood or chosen and business partnerships, is always at the center, especially in the Latino community. Again, I think it's also second nature. I'm a big believer in there's a there's a blood family and the family you create. Thankfully, again, in my immediate family, we're very close and tighten it. But there is family that you do create. That's the family. That is that you're here day in and day out with and his message for others hoping to follow in his footsteps. Just push. You will always find whether it be about a business or even just getting up to go to the gym, you can always find an excuse to not do something.
