Such a stacked guest list. His trip comes to New York, his trip to New York comes after media companies Nextar and Sinclair resumed airing Kimmel's show on their local ABC stations on Friday. And CBS News correspondent Lilia Luciano joins us now for more. So Lilia, you are there on the ground. What has the energy been like outside of the taping and how are fans reacting to Kimmel's return to air and his week-long relocation to New York? Well, hello neighbor. As you know, I'm not too far from home. We're both Brooklynites. So it was just a walk over here to the Brooklyn Academy of Art where Jimmy Kimmel is today having his show. What you might hear is a lot of people who are not just excited to be here, but he has this kind of hybrid segment where we can hear part of the show being recorded. A bunch of fans out here. But earlier today, I saw hundreds, I'm not even kidding, hundreds of people lined up through all of these blocks. BAM has about a 2,000 person maximum capacity and there are people who are waiting in a waitlist. So it was a sold-out show even though the tickets are not sold. People would sign up. Most of the people I talked to today, who were waiting there for hours to join the show, had signed up to come to the show before the cancellation or suspension. And they said that they were concerned about whether the show was going to go on, but that it was very important for them to show up and support Jimmy Kimmel. I just want to play a little bit of what the fans told me as they were waiting outside earlier and we'll come right back. What is the most important thing that brought you here today? Support Jimmy Kimmel, free speech! Free speech! Yes! And Guillermo, we love you! We're at a time right now where things are difficult and he speaks honestly about what's going on. I think it shows a lot of camaraderie between all the people that support his show plus people that respect the fact that he really didn't say anything wrong. It is vitally important that the country continue in a way that is supportive of freedom of expression and anything that counters that is going against a fundamental American value. Tom, I literally had people say, multiple people, not just one or two, say I could not sleep during the suspension because they were so used to watching him and they felt like their entire sleeping habits were messed with, but that they wanted to show up here to support the person who puts them to sleep at night. There's a lot of energy. And of course, I mean, we are in Brooklyn. This is a very progressive area. I also ask people, look, do you feel like people who think different from or believe in different things than what he talks about or believes in are welcome here? They all said yes, they are welcome, but the majority of people online are very much aligned. We saw one protester, but it was a protester who favored Kimmel, not on the other side. Yeah, I mean, just a resounding response when he was pulled off the airways. No doubt, so many people across the country and especially in Brooklyn, very happy to see him back in action.
