An Israeli government spokesperson said only certain bombings had stopped. There's no ceasefire in place at this point. But the military would continue to act, quote, for defensive purposes. Israeli forces warned residents who have left Gaza City against returning, calling it a dangerous combat zone. Trump posted on Saturday on Trude Social that Israel had agreed to an initial withdrawal line inside Gaza and that, quote, when Hamas confirms, the ceasefire will be immediately effective. Egypt was preparing to host delegates from Hamas, Israel and the United States and Qatar for talks on the implementation of the most advanced effort yet to halt the conflict. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Sunday, quote, we will know very quickly whether Hamas is serious or not from logistical discussions about the release of Israeli hostages from Gaza. Trump's 20-point peace proposal includes ending the war, Israel's phased withdrawal and the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian captives.
