Villages along the line of control have experienced multiple attacks, including the use of drones and other munitions. India's army has reported what it describes as "numerous ceasefire violations" by Pakistani troops across India's entire western border.

Residents in the affected regions describe a tense atmosphere, with heavy shelling forcing many to seek shelter in their homes. Local sources indicate that some border towns, such as Poonch, are largely deserted, and authorities have instructed people to remain indoors for their safety.

Displaced families from villages near the line of control are now residing in temporary shelters, including a college repurposed to house those affected by the violence. The recent escalation follows retaliatory fire by India's military, which it says targeted alleged terrorist camps in response to a deadly attack on tourists in Kashmir. India has accused Pakistan of being involved in the attack, an allegation that Islamabad denies.

The current confrontation is described as the most severe between India and Pakistan in more than two decades, with residents expressing hope for a peaceful resolution through dialogue between the two governments.
