The White House reported that Putin has agreed to meet with Zelensky, either alone or with Trump present, though preparations are still underway.

In meetings with European and NATO leaders, discussions focused on Russian demands, security guarantees for Ukraine, and European purchases of U.S. weapons. While the U.S. will not provide troops, Trump indicated support through coordination and other security measures. French President Emmanuel Macron and other coalition leaders are also involved in talks, as Russia continues to reject NATO involvement. Trump expressed optimism about achieving peace but acknowledged uncertainty regarding Putin's willingness to negotiate.

Russia's foreign minister says Putin is open to talks with Zelensky alone or with Trump. But there is work to be done to prepare. We will come to a resolution today, I think, on almost everything. Trump also met with Zelensky, European and NATO leaders. In the Oval Office, the leaders discussed Russian demands for land and security guarantees for a post-war Ukraine to be led by Europe. You know, in diplomacy, what happens in the Oval Office stays in the Oval Office. What's known? Europe will buy billions in U.S. weapons. As for American troops? U.S. boots will not be on the ground in Ukraine. But we can certainly help in the coordination and perhaps provide other means of security guarantees. French President Emmanuel Macron speaking with leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, including Canada, on help each country could provide. As Moscow maintains, it won't accept any NATO involvement. When I look at the situation and the facts, I don't see President Putin really willing to get peace now. Trump is again appearing to blame Ukraine for the war. You don't take on a nation that's 10 times your size.
