Here in Box Elder County, the community is continuing to mourn the loss of two Tremont and Garland police officers, but they say they also want to honor Deputy Mike Allred, who they say showed true bravery on Sunday night. He's he's a hero because he was. He was telling all the other officers that were coming. And his officers were coming. They were coming in the wrong way. He was able to redirect them so they didn't come right into the line of fire. Sheriff Kevin Potter and Chief Deputy Cade Palmer with the Box Elder County Sheriff's Office shared their emotions and their gratitude for Deputy Allred. They say has already arrived at the scene on Sunday night. He picked up his radio to call for help, but he was hit with gunfire. They say he got out of his car and took cover but still called to warn other responding officers. Coming from direction. I personally. Northwest side of the school. He'll put everybody first. You know it's it's the hour of second guessing and that's where he's at. You know, wishing we could have done more or something could have been different in Brigham City community members like Robin Troxell say he is a hero but Mike just showed so much bravery by continuing and he's saved probably more officers lives by staying on that radio coming from the north. Stay. Stay away from the. The scene at the intersection in a post on social media, Deputy Allred thanked the community for their love and support. He wrote about Officer Estrada and Sergeant Sorenson saying quote my heart breaks for the loss of my two brothers my friends there is no doubt that they would do the same for me. My heart aches for their families. All of my brothers and sisters who do this job now the Sheriff's office says both Allred and Azura are home resting and recovering. And and I believe he saved some lives that night because. Officers were responding in the same way he did, and he was directing them away from that situation. So yes, definitely I would call him a hero that night. We could have easily had more officers down than we did. The amount of bravery that he had.
