Leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to the league championship, Gilgis Alexander also claimed the scoring title and regular season MVP. That puts him in rare company alongside Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan. He's only the second Canadian to be named league MVP. Steve Nash did it back-to-back in 2004 and 2005. And he helped Team Canada win bronze at the FIBA World Cup. Canada's first medal ever. But he's never forgotten where he's from.
