A weather pattern along the East Coast is bringing a threat of gusty winds, coastal flooding and rip currents this weekend. Cities from Jacksonsville, Florida to Virginia Beach, Virginia, could see gusty winds to 25 mph.

Weather conditions along the US East Coast are expected to be affected by high pressure to the north and a persistent boundary, resulting in strong northeast winds and choppy waters. These factors are likely to create hazardous rip currents and rough surf, particularly from Atlantic City southward to areas like Hatteras, Wilmington, and Jacksonville.

Coastal areas, estuaries, and back bays may experience rising water levels, and coastal flood advisories could be issued in some locations. The risk of rip currents will be high in certain regions, with moderate to low risk further north towards Montauk and Long Island. Residents and visitors are urged to remain cautious, especially near the water's edge.

Now for us to make the story occur, you've got to have the energy we have it in terms of high pressure to the north. We also have this boundary that is just the thing that will not go away as long as that stays there. If you're going out into the water trying to swim around, you might have more than a few because it is going to be strong at times. We get into the afternoon and into the early evening hours. It will be quite strong. Flags are going to be flying in a huge way at half staff or half master full master or October whatever sales you have. Sales in your boats are going to be pushing too. So if you're going in this direction to the southwest, you're going to have a great breeze right at your back and the nose from Atlantic City you don't have much of an issue, but you make your way to Hatteras or Wilmington. It ramps up in a tremendous way, so a lot to follow now along the coast. You can expect anywhere where you have water and you have land that connect your estuaries your back bays can be affected but right along the water's edge could be rough coastal flood advisory could be defective.
