Following the publication, Grabovski initiated legal proceedings against the websites involved, labelling the reports as false and damaging to her reputation. Voice News has since retracted its article and apologised, admitting the claims were unfounded, while another outlet has maintained its position. Greek officials have reiterated that the allegations are baseless and highlighted a recent increase in disinformation.

The allegations were picked up by fringe media outlets, which also published their own articles, such as Cardista Star Acra. This website said that the flat supposedly costs between 2 and 3 million euros. The publication of the claims prompted Grabovski to take the websites to court. In official court documents, she said that she categorically denies the claims, labelling them as fake news that damages her credibility. She attacked them for accusing her of living in a parallel universe of wealth and privilege, said that the allegations had since spread through Greece and beyond, and added that they could easily be checked by looking at Greece's land registry. The subpoenas called on the websites to retract and apologise for the claims, which Voice News has done. It released a statement admitting that what it said was wrong, and was not based on any evidence, and it's also taken down the original article. The Cardista article, however, is still online, and the website appears to have doubled down. It's released a statement acknowledging the subpoena, and accuses her and her husband of setting up the largest criminal organisation Greece has ever known. The Prime Minister's Director of Digital Communication has since made a statement, again dismissing the allegations as fake news, noting that there has recently been a significant uptick in disinformation in Greece.
