Police will examine whether a fatal stabbing at a bus interchange could be linked to warring street gangs in Western Sydney. Superintendent Darrin Batchelor says the two victims were stabbed with "kitchen-type knives" and were known to police.

A violent incident at a bus stop in Mount Druitt resulted in the death of 19-year-old Zach McRae and left another 19-year-old, Vimlesh Chand, hospitalized with serious injuries. Police believe the attack may be linked to ongoing gang tensions in Western Sydney, with the suspects reportedly fleeing the scene with stolen items. 

A third individual, described as an innocent bystander, was also assaulted but managed to call emergency services. The suspects, dressed in black and wearing balaclavas, remain unidentified as police continue their investigation, examining the backgrounds of those involved and the possible motives behind the attack.

The violent feud so close to claiming another. 19-year-old Vimlesh Chand now sedated in hospital. That male is extremely lucky to survive. He sustained in a stab wound through his arm that went through the entirety of his arm and then penetrated his chest. Both local and known to police the pair ambushed around 10 o'clock last night. An innocent bystander too kicked and punched before dialing triple zero. It appears that that third male was just in the vicinity waiting for a bus and was caught up in the incident. This is not surprising but it's very scary. Same thing happens pretty much every single day so a lot of people are just used to it now. Like death of any any young persons. It's horrible. The interchange shut down for forensics as the riot squad searched the scene that extended up into the train station where four suspects fled with a backpack and a bum bag stolen from the deceased. At least two armed with kitchen knives, one dumped during their escape. It appears that they were dressed in all black and wearing balaclavas so the identity of those individuals is quite hard to determine at the moment. 21 evidence markers laid out pinpointing just how far this crime scene stretches and detectives are now working to piece together this timeline of events.
