Major Hurricane Gabrielle will be moving east, away from Bermuda Tuesday. However, the U.S. East Coast and Atlantic Canada are still feeling the impacts of rough surf and a high risk for rip currents, especially from North Carolina northward.

Tropical system Gabrielle is continuing to affect the East Coast of the United States, producing rough surf and an elevated risk of rip currents along much of the coastline. While the system is experiencing some wind shear and dry air, it remains strong enough to generate hazardous waves.

Gabrielle is forecast to move westward, with its remnants expected to reach Portugal and Spain. Winds associated with the system are reported at 45 miles per hour, and while not extremely strong, they are sufficient to bring clouds and showers to affected areas.

It is still holding strong to that, but expect some of that. Sheer is already kind of. You can already kind of see that everything kind of blown off to the Northeast and that dry air to start really taking advantage of that system, but it's still propagating waves out. We do have rip current risk here along the entire East Coast essentially, and as this makes its way westbound, look where it's going to visit. Portugal and Spain, whatever is left of it. It does have it with winds at 45 miles an hour still coming ashore here, so that wouldn't be, you know, super strong, but it's still going to bring some clouds of shower.
