Major Hurricane Gabrielle will continue northeast, eventually due east, as it moves away from Bermuda and towards the Azores and Western Europe. As it approaches The Azores, Gabrielle will bring increased winds, surf, and heavy rain.

Hurricane Gabrielle is currently moving east-northeast, having passed safely east of Bermuda without causing significant weather impacts. The storm, classified as a category four with winds of 140 miles per hour at the latest advisory, is accelerating away from North America.

Forecast models indicate Gabrielle will continue on its trajectory toward the Azores and may reach parts of Western Europe, including Portugal, Spain, and possibly France. As it approaches the region, Gabrielle is expected to lose its tropical characteristics and transition into an extra-tropical storm.

Let's have a look at Hurricane Gabrielle, which may be the next one to impact parts of Europe. There it is right now, right here, and it is moving away from Bermuda, moving away from North America. The good news here is that it never really impacted weather-wise Bermuda. It stayed far enough to the east as the models suggested it would. It is still a formidable tropical cyclone here, moving again east-northeastward, accelerating, undergoing some westerly shear, so it is starting to get stretched out in the sort of east-west dimension, and that is an issue for, I think, eventually, places in Western Europe, Portugal, Spain, maybe even France as well, but just one quick location here, Bermuda, 10 miles per hour at Hamilton, a north wind. The weather is perfect, as it nearly was yesterday, but there at the most recent advisory from the National Hurricane Center as of 11 a.m. Eastern, 140 mile per hour, category four. Look at the motion, east-northeast, now at 20, and it's going to only accelerate on that trajectory during the coming days. So we have to start thinking about, well, where does that take us? Let's go over to the weekend, Saturday, Sunday. Look at the cone, brings us into parts of Spain and Portugal as a, probably not a tropical cyclone anymore, some kind of a, the evolution out of that into more of an extra-tropical storm.
