The alleged shooters, a father and son, were confronted by police, resulting in the father's death and the son facing multiple charges, including murder and displaying a terrorist symbol. The Australian Prime Minister announced plans to increase penalties for hate speech and radicalisation, while the youngest victim, 10-year-old Matilda, was laid to rest.

The agony of goodbyes is underway with funerals for the 15 people murdered in Bondi while celebrating Hanukkah on Sunday. Public beachside memorials continue to hold the public with speeches and traditional smoke ceremonies to cleanse mourners. Many are still angry and unsparing in their critique of authorities. Our governments have failed every Australian when it comes to fighting hate and anti-Semitism. People visit the site at all hours to sing or just stand quietly. The victims are also in the thoughts of people in Toronto celebrating the Festival of Lights. There's something about today which feels like less of a celebration as we dwell on the dark events that have transpired thousands of miles away. It weighs heavy on all of us. The alleged shooters of father and son were shot by police. The father died but the son faces 59 charges after waking up from a coma including 15 counts of murder, 40 counts of wounding with intent to murder and one of public display of a prohibited terrorist organisation symbol. Police say a homemade ISIS flag was on display in the car driven to the scene and say it may be evidence of what inspired the attack. At Bondi, the familiar sights of surfers and beach goers as things are being put back in place. Some crime scene tape is being taken down. Lifeguards who were first on scene are back patrolling and the surfboards used as stretches Sunday were returned. It was really sombre. We went in to pay homage to the people, help collect 20 rescue boards and we took them from the crime scene back to Bondi Surf Club. The Australian Prime Minister has said they'll start cracking down on those spreading hate speech, radicalisation and division including increased penalties for hate speech. Georgie, family and friends are saying goodbye to the attack's youngest victim. Yes, 10-year-old Matilda, the youngest victim of this terror attack is being laid to rest in Bondi here. Her name has really become synonymous with the loss of innocent life and Jewish leaders say people should remember those killed as people and not victims. Alright Georgie, thanks for this.
