I'm at the 21st edition of the Roc-En-Scène festival that takes place each year right outside of Paris. Now for the past three years, the festival has really tried to celebrate female artists by making the first day exclusively female acts. Previous years we've seen the lights of Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey, this year it's a turn of Chaperone. This pop star has a very strong legion of fans that have come from all around the world to take a listen. We came to see Chaperone, basically, yeah. And Superwaterhouse. Oh yeah. And London Grammar. We like all the people that are coming here today. And what do you think about this exclusively female line-up on the first day? I think that this exclusive line-up of females is amazing. It's just really showing women empowerment and I think it's great. I think personally I love about Chaperone what she does for the LGBTQ community. I think she's a very important person for us. I love the representation that she gives and the voice for the trans people that she brings. So that's for me, that's what I love about her. The rain hasn't pushed me off. It gives us energy. Yeah. Now other acts to look forward to this weekend are the likes of US rapper Kid Cudi and French touch icon Justice. But there's one band that is causing quite a stir and that is the Irish trio Kneecap. The local council of St. Clu where the festival is taking place has decided to cut its budget of 40,000 euros to Rokkonsen because the trio were included in the line-up with a concert taking place on Sunday. That is because of comments made by the group over their career to do with Gaza and some of the messages at their concerts include waving the flag of Hezbollah at a concert last November in London. So now one of the members of a group called Mohara is facing terror charges in the UK for brandishing that Hezbollah flag and that's because Hezbollah is deemed a terror organisation under UK law. The judge has decided to adjourn the trial to late September. The festival of Rokkonsen have stood by the decision to keep Kneecap on the line-up but have said they'll keep a very close eye on their performance on Sunday.
