Established in 1926 after being brought to the city by Anthony Franks, the diner has maintained its welcoming, family-like atmosphere through generations of ownership.

Current owners Julie and Kevin Rittmiller have managed Frank's since 2010, focusing on preserving its legacy rather than making significant changes. The diner continues to attract both local regulars and visitors from across the country, with its staff and customers forming the heart of the establishment.

I'm in Kenosha County reporter Glenda Valdez and for a hundred years Frank's diner has been serving more than just food, it's been serving up community. Since 1926 this railcar diner has filled and fueled a lot of conversations. It's one of the oldest continually operating diners in America and it's right here in Kenosha. It's more like it's almost like coming home I think to a lot of our regulars to a lot of our employees we're more like a family it's not like you know yes we're professional but it's still a family and I think customers feel that same way. Brought here in 1925 by owner Anthony Franks the city made him wait a year to open his doors. A century later the diner has passed through generations but its heart hasn't changed. Did you ever think even with something built in you know 1925 1926 that it will last? No, no. So many years? No, no yeah. Julie Rittmiller and her husband Kevin owned Franks since 2010 carrying forward the legacy of a Kenosha classic. When we took it over it was we wanted to keep it going it was more like we were caretakers rather than business people like we didn't want to make a whole lot of changes because it's been good. And the community has responded not just locals but visitors from Chicago, Milwaukee and all over the US. We couldn't be here without the community. Customers just when people come in and they are fun they are more talkative you know it's a different kind of place. Our staff I mean you know they are Franks you know we own it but our staff our customers that's Frank Steiner and that's what we're so thankful for.
