Former Federal Reserve Governor Larry Lindsey has withdrawn his name from consideration for the position of Federal Reserve Chair. Lindsey confirmed his decision via text, stating that he does not wish to give up his current lifestyle to return to public service. 

Lindsey had been one of several candidates interviewed by Treasury Secretary Scott Bess, who is in the process of selecting a shortlist of nominees for the president's consideration. With Lindsey's withdrawal, the search for the next Federal Reserve Chair continues.
