A former aide to Maximilian Krah, a member of Germany's far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has been convicted of spying for China. Jian Guo, who worked in Krah's parliamentary office in the European Parliament from 2019 to 2024, was found guilty of providing Chinese intelligence with information on parliamentary negotiations and decisions, as well as monitoring Chinese dissidents in Germany and collecting information on AfD lawmakers.

Maximilian Krah, currently serving as a member of Germany's parliament, testified as a witness in Guo's trial and stated he was unaware of his former aide's activities. Recently, Krah's parliamentary immunity was lifted amid separate allegations of his own ties to China and involvement in corruption and espionage scandals, which he denies.
