The deportees, originating from Vietnam, Jamaica, Laos, Yemen, and Cuba, are currently being held in solitary confinement at the Matsapa Correctional Center, which is reported to be severely overcrowded. The case has sparked public outrage and was scheduled to be heard at the High Court, but proceedings were postponed due to the government's failure to file response papers.

Eswatini says it's holding them in solitary confinement until they can be repatriated. Their imprisonment at the Maximum Security Matsapa Correctional Center has caused outrage in Eswatini, which is an absolute monarchy ruled by King Maswati III. The case was due to be heard at the country's High Court on Friday, but was postponed until the 25th of September, reportedly because the government did not file response papers.
