A Sydney couple has reached the significant milestone of 70 years marriage. Still very much in love, Charlie and Pina celebrated the occasion with four generations of family by their side

Charlie and Pina Salinitro, known as Camilo and Guercipina, have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in Sydney's south-west, joined by four generations of their family. Both originally from Sicily, they migrated to Australia separately before meeting through their fathers and marrying in 1956. 

The couple, now aged 93 and 91, reflected on their humble beginnings and the importance of sharing and doing everything together as the secret to their long-lasting marriage. Their home is filled with photographs documenting their decades-long love story, and their family paid tribute to their enduring partnership.

It's the age-old question everyone wants to know, what's the secret to a long-lasting marriage? I work, I give all my money to her and she'll do what she wants. Sound advice that has gotten Camilo and Guercipina Salinitro, or Charlie and Pina as they like to be called, to their 70th wedding anniversary. It's amazing, it's a real milestone, the whole family's been sort of hyped up about it. To celebrate their milestone, the two lovebirds came together with four generations of family today in Sydney's South West. You wouldn't guess it, but they're 93 and 91 years young. Too old! Too old! We're never old. The pair both migrated here separately with their families from Italy, Charlie when he was 16 and Pina at 21. It was through their fathers that the two eventually met. I met her when I was 23 and because I was lonely. When I saw him handsome, tall, nice dressed up, I said that's not too bad. In 1956, Charlie proposed before the lovers eloped at the local church. Then came two kids, Joyce and Frank, before five grandkids and seven great-grandchildren. I love my nana nana. Their home filled to the brim with photographs which has captured their love story for well over half a century. Considering where they came from, from very humble backgrounds in Sicily, to come out here as immigrants and start from nothing, it's just incredible. And advice they'd give to others hoping for a long marriage like theirs. You share everything with your wife and your husband. We do everything together.
