England began the day with a review restored after a Snicko mishap saved Alex Kerry yesterday. That was little comfort though, Mitch Stark's series still going strong. Stark passed 50 as Australia eventually wound up all out for 371, the side of Stark with a new ball menacing, but Ben Duckett had a point to prove. Josh Inglis tweaked his shoulder in the field on a day tailor made for batting, it was just as dry in the stands with sunscreen a necessity, the Aussie skipper scorching hot in his return. Nathan Lyon arrived for his third over of the series, and on his third ball that put him level with Glenn McGrath's test wicket tally for three balls. At least Pidgeon took it well in the comm box, Joe Root's near dismissal almost had the English thawing things instead, but this time the DRS was on their side. They came out of lunch needing a saviour, Harry Brook was down, Root was out. Ben Stokes was stoic in the face of Stark, and while Brook was sticking to his promise of reining it in, he knew the right time to let loose. Charlie Chaplin certainly wasn't silent, but the snicko was when the Aussies needed it on Brook, the money man Cam Green needed treatment on a sore digit, but Green's thumb was good enough to draw a crucial nick. Jamie Smith went long, but next ball had a lucky break, this time it was the Aussies left fuming with events upstairs. Go back to snicko, it's nothing to say, let's hit the glove at all. And after Smith's eventual dismissal, it's fair to say the English tend to agree. Day two ending with more deja vu, the visitors fuming with snicko while Alex Carey reigned supreme.
