Police arrested David Luciano, 27, at 82-01 East Drive. Luciano, who has no known address, is charged with two counts of criminal obstruction of breathing, two counts of assault, and one count of petit larceny, officials said.

Police have arrested a 27-year-old man, David Luciano, in connection with two attacks that occurred in Central Park. Authorities report that the first victim, an 18-year-old man, was choked, punched, and thrown to the ground near West 62nd and West Drive. Shortly after, a 37-year-old man was attacked near West 93rd and West Avenue, where the suspect allegedly bit the victim's ear and fled the scene. 

Both victims were treated at Mount Sinai Morningside and are expected to recover. Luciano, who police say is homeless, is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation and faces charges including obstruction of breathing and petty larceny. Police believe he is responsible for both attacks, and the investigation is ongoing.

Police are also telling us that they believe the same individual is responsible for both attacks, the first of which happening in the wee hours of the morning right here in this stretch behind me around 1 30 this morning, police say an 18 year old man was attacked near West 62nd and West Drive here in Central Park. So this way it's not seen. I don't worry about safety when I'm here in Central Park. To be honest, tell me why I just I look around. I see everybody walking and enjoying themselves and having a good time. And I just don't see this as a dangerous place at all. Mhm. Once again, police telling us that they have arrested 27 year old David Luciano. They say that he is homeless without a home. He's also undergoing a psych evaluation right now at this time. Nonetheless, he's been charged with two counts of obstruction of breathing. That's for the choking incidents as well as petty larceny because we understand one of the victims was on a bike and that that bike was stolen again.
