The incident occurred close to a police station and lasted only a few minutes, with the suspects later fleeing in a stolen Mercedes sedan. Police are investigating connections to other recent thefts and are actively searching for three individuals believed to be involved.

The ram raid executed just 800 metres from the police station. It was probably two to three minutes all up, so it was very fast and very organised. As the business counts the full cost of the goods stolen, police are hunting the Mercedes sedan the offenders took off in after their rapid smash and grab. Police are investigating three separate thefts in the last fortnight. The vehicle, getaway car and plates were stolen from Cremorne and Darling Point. Steal a vehicle in one location and commit another crime in another location. They think they can outsmart us, but what I'm here today to tell you is that they can't. Detectives are confident they'll catch up with the cross city criminals with three on the run. Locals have another message for them. I think just find a job. Sarah Naven, 10 News.
