Federal MP Bob Katter has threatened a journalist with his fist after being asked a question about his Lebanese heritage at a press conference in Brisbane.

Katter, whose paternal grandfather migrated from Lebanon and was naturalised in Australia, rejected the reporter's line of questioning, calling it racist and demanding an apology. 

The incident took place as Katter and the Katter's Australian Party (KAP) addressed the media about upcoming anti-migration rallies. During the discussion, Katter expressed strong views on the types of migrants he believes should be welcomed, stating that many recent arrivals do not become Australians and 'hate Australians.' The exchange highlighted ongoing tensions in the national debate over migration and identity.

I have had to fight all of my life, my parents, my great grandparents, to be accepted as Australian. You describing those localities, that is a racist comment, and you should take it back, and you should be ashamed of yourself for saying it in public. There's no prouder Australian than my grandfather. Mr Catter is now demanding an apology. Before things went off the rails, the KAP had fronted cameras to talk about anti-migration rallies taking place across the country this weekend. Would your community want more migrants though? Is that something that you're thinking of? It depends on where the migrants are coming from. You know, most of the mob that are coming in here now, I'd die before I'd have them in the...
