Although not true jellyfish, Valella Valellas are related to jellyfish, sea anemones, corals, and hydroids. Authorities advise the public not to touch the live creatures, as their small stingers can cause skin irritation.

Thousands of them have recently washed ashore on several beaches in Ventura County, California. Valella Valellas are not a true jellyfish, but according to the National Park Service, they are related to jellyfish, sea anemones, corals, and hydroids. You are advised not to touch them, though, when they are alive since their small stingers can irritate the skin.
