Nassau police have arrested 34-year-old Stephen Prim in connection with the fatal shooting of Joseph Fountain, which occurred inside a home on Railroad Avenue in the early hours of New Year’s Day. Authorities report that Fountain was shot four times and died while being transported to the hospital, despite officers' efforts to save him.

Investigators determined that an argument took place outside the residence before Prim intervened and allegedly shot Fountain. Prim has been arraigned and is being held in jail, facing charges of second-degree murder and weapons possession, with his next court appearance scheduled for January 7th.

Prim was arraigned this morning and will be held in jail until his next court appearance. That's set for Wednesday, January 7th. He's facing second degree murder and weapons charges.
