New data shows Australia's carbon emissions have dropped to 29% below 2005 levels, with a target to reach 43% below by the next five years. The Prime Minister has not yet announced the government's climate goal for 2035.

Teal independent Zali Steggall introduced a climate change bill of her own, which would see national climate change risk assessments carried out every five years. Essentially a health check on our environment, despite the latest assessment still yet to be released. It's like we have an army mounting on our border. They've buried already for nine months. Now this is despite the fact that the Senate ordered them to produce this document. The data out today has revealed carbon emissions have fallen in Australia to 29% below 2005 levels. It now has five years to get that to 43%. The Prime Minister keeping tight-lipped on when it'll reveal its government's goal for 2035. We'll announce it when there's an announcement.
