Similar notes were shown as examples by South Australian authorities that were used to make purchases. I must admit, the internet starts to worry a little bit. You question everything these days. And it might be used by, you know, businesses to just say we're not accepting cash anymore. SA Police says prop money must be clearly identified as a fake to be considered legal. It'd be up to the police, but if something was that close to real currency, I think there's a very good chance that you might land yourself in trouble. The prevalence of fake money has prompted some retailers to install specialist technology to help spot a scam. We, like, pop the cash in, scans it and lets us know if it's fake. The shop workers' union points out the potential for increased conflict at the checkout and verbal abuse and intimidation of staff just doing their job. The advice to retail workers is to handle fake notes as little as possible so police can obtain forensic evidence, then place them in an envelope and give it straight to authorities.
