Apple unveiled its iPhone 16, featuring new artificial intelligence capabilities. The device has been designed with Apple Intelligence, the company's AI software, which aims to enhance Siri, Apple's personal assistant, and improve camera functions. Apple claims that this new technology will make Siri more natural, contextually relevant, and personalised. In addition to the new AI features, Apple Intelligence will summarise emails and notifications, providing users with more concise information. The initial test version of Apple Intelligence will be available in the U.S. next month, with further versions in Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish expected next year. However, the rollout in China will be delayed until it receives approval from Beijing. This latest announcement comes in the context of intense competition in the tech industry, with companies globally racing to integrate AI into their products. Apple's announcement was notably close to Huawei's announcement of 3 million preorders for its tri-fold phone. Last year, iPhone sales represented more than half of Apple's $383 billion revenue. Apple hopes the AI feature will encourage users to upgrade, amidst a slowdown in iPhone sales.
