The International Military Music Festival has begun its 17th edition on Moscow's Red Square, with 27 teams from 10 countries participating. This year's festival is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory in what is referred to in Russia as the Great Patriotic War, known internationally as the Eastern Front of World War II. The event will continue until the end of August.

Otherwise known as the Eastern Front War of World War II, it was fought mainly between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. The festival runs until the 31st of August.
