Currently, around 35 children participate at one school, accompanied by a high ratio of adults to ensure safety. The initiative emphasizes community involvement, with crossing guards assisting and music adding to the experience. Organizers plan to continue the bike bus as long as weather conditions allow, aiming to promote independence and road safety among young cyclists.

My daughter started kindergarten this year at this school and I wanted to make a bike bus for her school and then when I started planning it I sort of realized hey this can scale up significantly so I started an organization to do that. A bike bus is a safe, fun and social way for kids to get to school, it's just like a school bus but we're on bikes. There's a scheduled route with places for people to get on and we end up at school. We've got about 35 kids at this school right now but you'll notice that there's one to two adults per kid so it makes the group pretty big and fun. I've been biking with my kids for a little while but this is a great way to get them riding more independently on the road with friends, with lots of music and lots of support from the community around. Safety is obviously a priority, we have the crossing guards there which I know gives me a lot of peace of mind because they're the ones signalling to drivers just to please wait, we have a bunch of kids. This morning was a great crew, it was fun, that adds to the hype I think. You get to ride on the road which is very cool for a little one. Evident as winter, what do you do? Well we ride until we can't ride anymore and I don't know what that looks like yet because we haven't done it but I suspect we can go quite a lot further than people think we can.
