The National Hurricane Center is now watching three different areas in the Atlantic for tropical development. The wave closest to the Leeward Islands will likely develop into a tropical depression over the next few days.

Meteorologists are observing three areas in the Atlantic for potential tropical development. While one area east of Bermuda could strengthen and possibly be named Farnan, forecast models indicate it will remain over open water and not pose a threat to land. Another system, Invest 99L, is holding together as a tropical wave but lacks a surface circulation and is expected to weaken due to wind shear. Additional waves emerging off the African coast will also face challenging conditions for development. Overall, current guidance suggests no immediate land impacts from these systems.

Tropics are busy elsewhere. But does any of this impact us over time? And the quick answer, the short answer is no. It doesn't look like it, all right? 40 to 70% this develops, and 70% the later we go. A lot more convective today. Here's the new little area, the little mini me that they've got up there that could develop. This is the time of year you look everywhere. Stuff pops up off of old fronts. Thunderstorms cluster, you can get a low pressure system. But here's the guidance with the European model showing a ramp up east of Bermuda, and then it just gets caught up in the main flow. So neither model does any kind of land threat at all with that system that may get the name Farnan as we get into the latter part of the weekend, okay? So that's what we're gonna be watching here for you. What else do we have? Well, we've got this Invest 99L, which is still holding together, but still no surface circulation associated with that. This is a model generated product, but essentially we're just a big tropical wave here that's moving west and is about to get sheared over the next 24 hours. They kill it. See how they just kind of kill it and stretch it out like this? Next waves that'll have to come off, they're gonna have to deal with the shear as well.
