The 2025 New York Comic Con has started at the Javits Center, drawing more than 250,000 attendees. The event features a wide range of pop culture attractions, including appearances by celebrities such as Sigourney Weaver, James McAvoy, Laurence Fishburne, and Glenn Powell. New installations and booths, such as Warhammer and My Little Pony, are among the highlights, alongside returning favorites like DC Comics, Marvel, Hasbro, Funko, and Bandai.

The convention offers a variety of experiences for fans, from cosplay and celebrity panels to interactive exhibits. Organizers emphasize the event's inclusive atmosphere, catering to enthusiasts of anime, movies, series, and more. Tickets are still available for the opening day, but are expected to be limited for the weekend.

2025 New York Comic Con begins: What to know

All right, get ready to unleash your creativity. All right, or your inner nerd, whatever you want to do. New York Comic Con begins today, and fans are already in line to kick off the action-packed weekend. Our very own Ryan Christopher, he's there. We're back here. It all kicks off today at Javits Center through Sunday. There's going to be over 250,000 guests here, and we're celebrating all things spooky, but not spooky here, Chris DeLando. He is the man of New York Comic Con. Chris, always great to see you. Likewise, thank you. Let's take a little walk, because this year is great. You have more celebrities, it seems like, than ever. So many new installations. What's hot? What's exciting this year? Yeah, our guest list is red hot this year. We're really excited. K-pop Demon Hunters voices will be here today. Come on, for real? Yeah, Sigourney Weaver this weekend, James McAvoy, Laurence Fishburne, a little bit of everything. And also, that handsome fella, Glenn Powell, is going to be in the house as well. Yeah, absolutely. Promoting the Running Man from Paramount. A bunch of really great stuff. My Little Pony. This is my favorite booth, just saying. I don't want to tell anybody. We can get you a wig. OK, thank you. Maybe I'll wear that in the next hit. And this is a brand new exhibit right over here. This is Warhammer. For people who are not familiar with this big fella right here, what's Warhammer all about? One of the many new booths on the show for Warhammer is an amazing tabletop game, if you're into that sort of thing. Paint miniatures, playing with your friends, obviously are really going to be a cool hot spot this weekend. Awesome. I think it's so cool, because you don't necessarily be a fan of one specific thing. You come here, you take in all the culture, you take in all the different shows, whether it's anime, whether it's a series, a movie. There's something for everybody. What do you think people are going to expect this year that's a little bit new, a little bit exciting? Yeah, you really hit the nail on the head, right? New York Comic Con is a celebration of all things pop culture. There's a little bit of something for everybody. We've got some great booths on the show floor. You're seeing the Hasbro booth. DC Comics is back, along with all your favorites like Marvel and Funko and Bandai. Huge show floor this year. And what is it like for you guys having 250,000 fans? Because when you say the word fanatic, I think that best describes these fans. I mean, they are into this. People dress up. There's cosplay, a little bit of everything. So how would you describe the fans here and the energy? They are incredibly passionate. They love what they love, and we're really happy to be able to give it to them. Very cool.
