A wintry mix of rain and snow moved into northeastern Pennsylvania, resulting in slushy roads and hazardous travel conditions. Snowfall accumulations ranged from 1 to 3 inches in the Lehigh Valley to 3 to 5 inches further north in areas like Lehigh Inn and Jim Thorpe. 

Local and state police responded to numerous stalled vehicles and accidents as drivers struggled with icy and slushy roads. Authorities continue to warn motorists to drive cautiously as conditions may worsen with ongoing precipitation.

We're here in Bethlehem, PA, where this once snow-lined, beautiful street earlier this morning has, unfortunately, as you might be able to see behind me, has turned into slush here. Now, this rain, wintry mix that we're currently seeing moved into the region early afternoon time, making conditions very difficult across northeast Pennsylvania. We saw a wide range of those conditions throughout the day today. It really depended on where you were throughout the area. The Lehigh Valley, for example, saw anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of snowfall. But the further north you went, the higher the accumulation. Places like Lehigh Inn and Jim Thorpe saw roughly 3 to 5 inches of snow. As for road conditions, it's been a tough day for drivers and a busy day for local and state police. Lots of stalled out vehicles, wiped out cars and tractor trailers that really struggled to make it uphill in some locations. Local officials still warning drivers to take things slow behind the wheel, especially as that early morning snow turns into ice in some locations. As for families looking to enjoy the snow, the day for that was seemingly cut short. But not before seeing this family enjoy the back roads in their neighborhood.
