There are two main areas of interest that are being monitored by the National Hurricane Center. One of these two areas is set to become Fernand over the weekend while the other is beginning to lose its organization.

Meteorologists are observing heightened activity in the Atlantic basin as hurricane season approaches its peak. Two invest areas, labeled 90L and 99L, are being tracked for potential development. Invest 90L has a high likelihood of developing into a tropical system and may affect areas near Bermuda, which recently experienced impacts from another storm. In contrast, Invest 99L has a much lower chance of development and is expected to remain disorganized as it moves toward the Caribbean, with forecast models showing limited intensification. Experts emphasize the importance of remaining prepared throughout the hurricane season, which continues for several more months.

Watching the active Atlantic basin

Let's start with 90l kelly because this one has the higher chance of development Yeah, and a higher chance of affecting somebody like bermuda Of course, they took a slight pass from aaron with the 50 mile per hour winds and some wave action But we've got an 80 to 90 chance of development with that first invest. How about 99l this one? Only has about a 10 to 20 chance of development perhaps moving across the lesser antilles as a disorganized cluster of thunderstorms making it into the caribbean Where both of our models which we're going to show you here the european and the american don't really do a whole lot with it But kelly, I do not trust anything that goes into the caribbean this time of year ready No matter what right of course there you see that one going by just to the east of bermuda This is according to the european model We still watch the main development region for other storms that could develop this time of the year But thankfully behind that next invest we don't really don't see a whole lot of action out there The american model also gives this a close pass with bermuda But you know even a close pass will have some big impacts and there's 99l making into the caribbean sea But you really don't see a whole lot of development All right, but still be ready just in case right for the season that goes all the way through the end of november
