This will have implications on the ongoing war crimes investigation conducted by the ICC and the genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice. This is a very powerful example about the failure of the Israeli justice system when it comes for the grave violations and the serious crimes that the Palestinian prisoners face in the Israeli system. Ironically, Yerushalmi was already criticized for shying away from opening investigations into other serious incidents for fear of facing the wrath of Israel's right wing. Hesitation that served Israel's impunity but did not protect Israel's image or the military advocate general's job.
