Voters in Colorado are casting ballots on two propositions that will determine whether the state's Healthy School Meals for All program, which provides free breakfast and lunch to all school children, will continue. They are also deciding if $12 million already collected for the program should be used to fund it or returned as a tax rebate. 

In Maine, voters are considering two high-profile ballot measures: one that would require voter identification for elections and restrict absentee voting, and another that would introduce a red flag law allowing courts to remove firearms from individuals deemed at risk. The outcomes of these measures could have significant impacts on education, voting access, and gun safety in both states.

Let's go to CBS News correspondent Ian Lee. Ian, you're also watching two propositions out of Colorado that will decide the future of the state's school meals program. What can you tell us? Hi, Elizabeth. Yeah, the program is called Healthy School Meals for All. Essentially, it gives free breakfast and lunch to all of Colorado's school children. And so on the ballot, they're going to be asking voters if they want to continue this program or stop this program. The other initiative is there's about $12 million that has already been collected for this program. They're asking voters if they want to put that money back into it or if they're going to have it as a tax rebate. Now, last week, I was talking to two Colorado voters who are on different sides of this issue. One of them said, of course, they want children to have free school lunches and breakfast and that it's the right thing to do. The other person said they also agree that children should be able to have free breakfast and free lunch, but they disagree at how that is coming about. They say that the government already taxes them enough and that the government needs to be more efficient. Find that money elsewhere instead of just taxing the people to fund these programs. And Ian, you're also keeping an eye on Maine, where voters there will decide on two high profile ballot measures. What can you tell us about those? Yeah, the first measure talks about voter ID for elections, so voters are going to be asked if they want to join more than 30 states that already require an identification to vote. The second initiative goes, that also goes, sorry, for absentee voting. If that's passed, it'll greatly restrict absentee voting. The people can't call for their ballot. They can't pick it up for their loved one. If you're someone who automatically has your ballot sent to you every year, that will also be stopped, so voters are going to decide that. The second proposition is a red flag law that will have loved ones request a court to take away the weapon of someone they love if that person is at risk of harming themselves or someone else. Now, Maine already has a yellow flag law that is a similar, more clunky process to take away someone's weapon they believe is a threat, so voters in Maine will have a direct say on whether that red flag law will go into effect.
