Venus Williams has become the second-oldest woman to win a tour-level singles match in professional tennis and the oldest in 21 years. Alex de Minaur is through to the last eight of the DC Open for the first time since 2018.

Venus Williams' comeback at the DC Open concluded with a second-round loss to Magdalena Freck. Despite the defeat, Williams' return was widely praised, earning her a place in tennis history and admiration from fans and commentators. 

In other tournament action, Australian player Alex de Minaur advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Jiri Lehecka. De Minaur's performance was highlighted by strategic play, continuing his strong run in the competition.
