A dog named BAMI, missing for 54 days in the wilderness of North Vancouver, has been safely reunited with her owner. The search effort included local volunteers and was led by a searcher named Parker, who used a thermal drone to locate the dog after multiple sightings and unsuccessful attempts.

BAMI had slipped out of her collar and lost her tracker, making the search challenging as she moved between various areas. Upon being found, BAMI immediately recognized her owner and is now recovering at home, closely following her owner and resting after her ordeal.

The day that she went missing, my husband was walking her and she pulled harder than usual not wanting to walk and she wanted to return home because I was at home. Then she slipped out of her collar and unfortunately her tracker came off with it and that's how she went missing. As soon as she went missing, I shared on Facebook that I need help like has anyone seen my dog? A lot of neighbors and people came out searching for her. The hardest part was dealing with the uncertainty, not knowing where she is and we do not know how long this will go on. Some days there will be sightings so we will rush to get there. We don't see her and we will have to come back. It was you know one of the trickier cases I've encountered in many years. It's not too often we get a search like BAMI's but these are the ones that you know the reason I do this. I see Parker as like a commander in chief. He comes up with the strategy, he plans. But with BAMI she kept moving areas so she would be seen in one spot and she'd take in a forest and then she would take a trail, she'd be in you know park gate. The day before she was found there was a sighting. What Parker did is he went there, he used his thermal drone and using that he was able to locate where she was which is incredible. A plan was set. Parker positions us. We kind of flushed BAMI towards YENI. Just like Parker predicted, she came to the direction where I was standing. And as soon as she saw YENI, she ran right up to her. She immediately recognized me. For 54 days I don't think she's been eating well as you can see. She's following me everywhere. She's more than a family to me. She's baby. When she was missing I felt that a part of me was missing. So she's been sleeping all day.
