But the American president also said the U.S. may meet Iranian officials. Iran's foreign minister reacted to Trump's statements Monday, insisting Iran is ready for anything. We do not seek war, but we are fully prepared for it. At the same time, as I have repeatedly said, we are also ready for negotiations. In a sign Trump is truly considering punishing the regime, the president is set to be briefed Tuesday on a possible intervention.
