Utah violinist John Shin was released from a Colorado ICE facility, greeted by supporters and friends. The local music community, led by longtime friend Kurt Bester, organized a benefit concert to raise funds for Shin's legal fees and $25,000 bond. 

Supporters expressed relief when authorities did not contest Shin's bond, allowing him to return home. The community has pledged ongoing support for Shin, with Bester confirming plans to include him in future performances.

Just moments after shin walked out of the Colorado ice facility, he could be seen with a smile on his face, surrounded by supporters. He's John. He's just the sweetest guy you'll ever meet. Kurt Bester has known John Shin for decades, and over the past few weeks, Bester and the music community in Utah have banded together to support their friend. The benefit concert on Monday helped them raise money to pay for Shin's legal fees, including his $25,000 bond. When we finally heard that they weren't going to contest the bond, he was coming home. It was like the best crescendo in a piece of music. It was like the finale. Bester says this situation hits close to home and really puts things into perspective. But moving forward, he says the community will continue to support John and always save him a chair. I'm actually hiring people for my Christmas concert this year, which is in December. And I told the lady today that hires him, I said, please put John on my concert.
