Although the White House has not officially confirmed the country's identity, Kazakhstan is widely speculated to be the next signatory, given ongoing diplomatic discussions and its existing formal ties with Israel since 1992.

The move is seen as part of broader efforts by the U.S. administration to expand the Accords and improve Israel's international image following the Gaza conflict. The Abraham Accords, initiated in 2020, have previously included Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, with further expansion considered beneficial for regional stability and U.S. interests.

I'm flying back to Washington tonight because we're going to announce tonight another country coming into the Abraham Accords. Tonight. Wow. Yeah. So do you want to, you know, lift the curtain here, or do you want to... I have a show at six o'clock. I don't know if it's out yet. Now our White House correspondent, Kimberly Halkett, is live for us in Washington, D.C. You've been speaking to your contacts. What are we hearing? Yeah, we have not had any confirmation yet from the White House on the name of the country that is expected to join as another signatory of the Abraham Accords. What we do know, though, is that there have been some very strong rumors that have been reported as far back as August when Azerbaijan was one of the countries that was named. The latest country that is being bandied about is Kazakhstan. And there's a reason why. The U.S. president is this evening here in Washington on Thursday hosting five Central Asian countries and their leaders. He will be talking to them about how to circumvent China and acquire rare earth minerals for things like electric vehicles and the defense industry. But it is expected that Kazakhstan could also be that country that the Middle East envoy is referencing of being the latest signatory to join the Abraham Accords. But what's important to note is that it has already got formal relations with Israel as far back as 1992, even has an embassy, we understand, in Israel. But what is important to note is that this would formalize that relationship and would also allow for Israel to turn the page on a negative image it's had as a result of the Gaza war, which seems to be one of the White House goals, in addition to furthering the Abraham Accords themselves. I mean, that's exactly it, isn't it, Kimberly? The more countries that join the Abraham Accords, the better it is, as you've just said, for Benjamin Netanyahu, for the government of Israel, for the Americans itself. But just explain to us what the Abraham Accords are and why they are that important. Yeah, the Abraham Accords are essentially a document that was put together by the Trump administration back in 2020 at the end of his first term, President Trump's first term. And what it set out to do is to provide stability in the Middle East and to do so through advancing economic opportunity as well as security cooperation. So it started with the recognition by Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. And the U.S. president has been seeking to expand it ever since. One of the countries he's keen to see the expansion, or kingdoms, rather, of Saudi Arabia. So the U.S. president is looking to expand this in his second term. This is, again, largely, if it is Kazakhstan, as the Middle East envoy has suggested, one of these possibilities. It would certainly, again, be very symbolic, given there are already the relations that are in place. But, again, this might be more about the public relations campaign and trying to improve the image of Israel, given the fact that its approval rating around the world is so low as a result of the mass casualties as a result of Israel's war on Gaza.
