This year’s Bright Star joint military exercises are wrapping up after almost two weeks of training outside Cairo.

The Bright Star 25 joint military exercises, co-hosted by the United States and Egypt, have concluded after nearly two weeks of training near Cairo. This biennial event, which began in 1980 following the Camp David Accords, is recognized as one of the largest multinational military exercises globally.

Bright Star 25 saw participation and observation from over 40 countries, involving more than 8,500 military personnel from around the world. According to U.S. Central Command, the exercises aimed to enhance collective defense capabilities, improve regional security, and reinforce strategic partnerships.

Co-hosted by U.S. Central Command and the Egyptian Armed Forces, Bright Star is one of the largest joint military exercises in the world. The scope and scale of Bright Star 25 has grown immensely. If you look at today's exercise that we've been developing for the past 18 months, we have over 40 countries participating and observing and over 8,500 soldier, sailor, airman, marine from all over the world that have come to Egypt and to this Alexandria region to show partnership and to train shoulder to shoulder. According to U.S. Central Command, the exercises are aimed at strengthening collective defense capabilities, improving regional security, and reinforcing strategic partnerships. Bright Star 25 concludes on September 10th.
