They need cash, they need registration, they need access and the host communities that are receiving them need support. Fighting between Sudan's army and the rapid support forces began in April of 2023 in Khartoum and spread nationwide. Both sides are accused of atrocities while millions face famine as the war continues. The U.N. is calling for the international community to do more. The Sudanese people need our support, the support to help them rebuild their country, restore services so that the millions who are out there and who are longing for returning are able to return. Up to 20,000 people have fled into Chad from Western Sudan escaping intense fighting. Inside the country millions are displaced. At least 150,000 people have been killed, though rights groups warn the real toll is likely far higher.
