In May this year, the government hoped to mend frayed diplomatic ties, but its delegation faced accusations a so-called white genocide was taking place. It's something Ramaphosa rejected, insisting violent crime affects all South Africans equally. Afrikaner advocacy group AfriForum has been instrumental in amplifying the issue of farm murders in South Africa. It blames the government for what it calls a diplomatic crisis that serves no one's interests. By making strong anti-American statements and with irresponsible policies, such as their ties with Iran, the president should condemn the call for ethnic violence against Afrikaners. The presidency says it planned for this sort of response from Trump. We've already engaged a number of other partners in ensuring that the momentum of the work that was done under the South African presidents of the G20 is carried through into the G7. And analyst Sanusha Naidoo says she picked up something interesting in the last line of the G20 leaders' declaration. We thank South Africa for hosting the G20.
