Now, today, Trump cut out the ribbon on his newest self-titled golf course. On this trip, the president also turned his attention to the war in Ukraine and the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Let's bring in CBS News White House political reporter Zach Hudak in Washington for us. Zach, thank you for joining us today. First, on the Middle East, what did the president have to say about the situation there? President Trump said today that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are working together and they are going to work to get out of this, to straighten out this situation, excuse me, for the world, he said. So that is really a shift from what we've seen him say about this in the past. We heard him yesterday make really the first acknowledgement of a humanitarian crisis, saying that it seems that people are starving, that he's troubled by the images. Obviously, the conversations he's had in Scotland with other foreign leaders have had an impact on how he's looking at this situation, but we've also seen pressure from within his party. Just the other day, Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of the farthest right members of Congress, was speaking about this herself, saying that there is genocide going on. So this is a shift that we're seeing internationally, but also within the Republican party here domestically. Yeah, and I want to turn now to the situation in Ukraine, because the president, he slashed a deadline, he said, for President Vladimir Putin to come to a peace deal. What's been the reaction from Russia to that? The reaction is not positive. It is that this is an ultimatum that President Trump has given Russia, and that each ultimatum that he gives moves us closer to war, and that's not war. The Russian foreign minister even specified that's not closer to war between Russia and Ukraine or the U.S. in another country. It's closer to war between the U.S. and Russia. So Russia sees those ultimatums as very much an escalation and very much moving our two countries closer to being at war. All right.
