The ceasefire ends five days of fighting along the border which has killed dozens of people and displaced hundreds of thousands. We have a total of 300,000 both sides of refugees, 140,000 on Cambodian side, 160,000 on Thai side. Thailand and Cambodia accuse each other of starting the fighting last week, which escalated with heavy artillery bombardment and airstrikes. The neighbours have been locked in a dispute for decades over undemarcated points along their 817-kilometre land border which includes ancient temples. Recent tensions escalated after the killing of a Cambodian soldier during a brief skirmish late in May.
