Notable moments included local artists celebrating Black history at Union Station, a chef bringing fine dining to a food bank, and the reopening of Wards Island Cafe after a fire. The city also hosted major events such as the Pride Parade, Carabana, and the first North American Korean culture expo, while residents performed acts of kindness and local talent gained recognition.

Other highlights included a record-setting 100-story building, unique events like hundreds of Tamagotchis 'marrying,' and research on urban raccoons. The Toronto Blue Jays inspired unity among fans, and the year was marked by a sense of togetherness through art, music, sports, and good deeds, making 2025 a memorable year for positive news.

Amongst the doom and gloom that dominates the news were stories that made us smile in 2025 too. But we were not losing that fish. This man got quite a bit of attention after he caught this meter-long muskie in the city. And local artists took over Union Station to celebrate Black history. I'm free to create whatever comes to mind. Canada united in an unexpected way. A bi-Canadian movement and even Canadianos in cafes. Every single cucumber I'm chopping right now is imperfect but I'm going to like turn it into something that is delicious. This chef bringing fine dining to a food bank in need. This is kind of where the magic happens. And this woman's garage food bank are just a couple of residents good deeds. You know we're free on Sundays. The Bata Shoe Museum celebrated 30 years and after a devastating fire the Wards Island Cafe is back serving summer beers. Speaking of summer the Pride Parade and Carabana brought thousands to the streets and the CNE didn't disappoint with its rides and bizarre treats. A jumbo hot dog it's wrapped in seaweed and rice. Canada's Wonderland's new roller coaster threw this reporter for a loop and who would have thought in 2025 hundreds of Tamagotchis would say I do. People loved this nine-year-old's Toronto themed creation out of Lego. Here's the hot dog which is my first favorite part. We were also the first city in North America to host a Korean culture expo. A party for veterans turning 100 years old was a heartwarming sight and the first 100-story building in Canada set a record for new heights. Our homegrown talent made us proud and brought us some banger tunes and it wouldn't be a year in Toronto without some news about raccoons. We were all very excited to see that actually indeed urban raccoons have shorter snouts which might indicate that they're on the pathway to domestication. One, two, three. This is the Counting Seagulls Club and well you can guess what they do. I am 35. Have I slacked off? Maybe. And now a moment to honour these cows named after baseball stars at the Toronto Zoo. Oh baby, goodbye. Which brings us to the most exciting era, the promise of our Blue Jays. Bars were packed, fans were stoked and the boys made some amazing plays. He got another one. And even when they didn't clinch the win, the good news remained. Toronto continued to carry pride because that season was about a lot more than just baseball games. It reminded us of what it feels like when we're together rooting for one team. In a way, for the first time, it was kind of giving 2019. The city came together this year in more ways than one. Good people, art, music and sports made being in Toronto a whole lot of fun. Things were far from perfect but the year brought us more good news than we expected to see.
