Lawmakers from both parties have criticized the DOJ's actions, arguing that the initial release does not meet the requirements of the law. Among the released documents was a 1996 FBI report alleging Epstein's interest in child pornography, with no evidence of government action at the time. Some lawmakers have suggested possible impeachment proceedings against Attorney General Pam Bondi over the handling of the document release.

Now the agency says it will keep reviewing and redacting material to, quote, protect victims. CBS' Shanelle Call has the latest from New York tonight. Shanelle. The Justice Department acknowledging this was an incomplete release, adding even more documents could be pulled. This image of a desk with a photo of President Trump was among one of the 15 files released, then pulled down by the Justice Department. It was returned to the website late today. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche defending the move. So we learned after releasing that photograph that there were concerns about those women and the fact that we had put that photo up. So we pulled that photo down. We are not redacting information around President Trump. Blanche explaining it's an ongoing process. We're going through a very methodical process with hundreds of lawyers looking at every single document and making sure that victims' names and any of their information from victims is protected. On Friday, the government was required by law to release all documents related to Epstein. But that didn't happen. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. And it does appear, of course, that this initial document release is inadequate. It falls short of what the law requires. Republican Congressman Thomas Massey, who co-sponsored the legislation, agrees. They're flouting the spirit and the letter of the law. It's very troubling the posture that they've taken. Within the documents that were released, an FBI report from 1996 filed by Maria Farmer alleging Epstein's interest in child pornography. She reported Epstein to the authorities, to the federal authorities, to the FBI. And as far as we can tell, it looks like the government did absolutely nothing. The Democratic and Republican lawmakers who co-sponsored the Epstein Files Transparency Act today suggested they could also draft articles of impeachment against Attorney General Pam Bondi. Jerica?
