The suspects, armed with pistols and an assault rifle, fled the scene, and a manhunt is underway. This incident marks the second mass shooting in South Africa within three weeks, highlighting a troubling pattern of violence at bars and taverns in the country.

Authorities say the incident occurred just before 1 a.m. Sunday in the township of Bekasdao, which is located 46 kilometers west of Johannesburg. It is the second mass shooting to happen in South Africa in three weeks. A white quantum and a silver Toyota Etios came to this tavern behind us, found people enjoying themselves in the tavern. The tavern is licensed, by the way, and it was still operating within the prescribed timeframe. There are about plus-minus ten males alighted from those two vehicles, unprovoked, just randomly shot the patrons, and out of that, three people were shot and killed there. The police commissioner said the assailants were armed with nine-millimeter pistols and an assault rifle. A manhunt for the suspects is underway. Ten were injured, and in that process, two other people tried to run away, they got into the black wolf that was here. They were shot and killed all day. Three other people also, with a group of other people, they were running away. Three were shot. They ran up to the clinic. Unfortunately, when they arrived at the clinic, they couldn't come in. They succumbed to the injuries, and that's what happened. There have been several mass shootings at bars, sometimes called shebins or taverns in South Africa in recent years, including one earlier this month in a bar near South Africa's capital, which killed 12 people.
