Authorities allege the men were hired to target an individual with links to organised crime, possibly as a result of a breakdown in a transnational criminal network. All three have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and participating in a criminal group, and remain in custody as police continue to investigate the syndicate believed to be involved in multiple murder plots.

Two teens were pulled from a Mitsubishi and a 26-year-old from a Mercedes-Benz. Both cars are alleged to have been stolen and contain two guns, balaclavas, jerrycans and body-worn cameras. Later, we searched a third unoccupied vehicle and recovered a third firearm. All three men are alleged to have been hired guns, tasked with taking out a man who'd made some dangerous enemies, possibly offshore. Yes, that person has links to crime and that person was targeted due to what we think is a breakdown in the transnational organised crime network. 19-year-old Kevin Mundine was out on bail at the time of his arrest alongside 18-year-old Griol Tai. They've both been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and participating in a criminal group alongside 26-year-old Tyrone Rio. Family members turned up to support the men in court today, while Tai and Rio's lawyer stayed tight-lipped. We won't be making any comments today, thank you. All three men remain in custody as police continue to probe the group that allegedly hired them, a criminal syndicate they believe to be involved in multiple murder plots.
